David Kirsch TS #3
I met with In-young at Strozier on June 21st from
12:30-1:30 PM. For this session we spent the hour going over an essay she wrote
for the writing practice I had assigned her on Wednesday. Due to the length of
the essay, we ended up using the entire session as a writing lesson. I read
through her draft and underlined any words or sentences that needed correction
or were perhaps sounded a bit awkward. Afterwards, I had In-young look over what
was underlined and asked her what she thought the necessary correction might be.
I did my best to guide her train of thought to the answer instead of outright
editing the paper for her. The session went very well, and In-young seemed very
engaged in the activity. For next session, I ask her to look up and read an
English language news article to read and bring a copy of it with any words or
phrases she did not understand underlined so that we could go over them.
