On Monday, I had met up with Kubra at the CIES building. Before we had started our lesson on "augh" words, I had her tell me her story using the "ough" words from our previous session. I had enjoyed her story and when she finished speaking her little story; I had then corrected her on her pronunciation as well as any grammar mistakes she had made. I had found a 5-page worksheet over the different pronunciations of "augh". The first page was mostly focused on different sounds. It was a list in which the top row was the sounds. I had her read each word aloud to me three times and I would correct her afterward on the pronunciation. The next page had the definition of each of the words along with an empty box saying "in your language". The page after that was the same as the second page except instead of an empty box, it came with example sentences of each of the words. Then there was a fill-in-the-blank page for the words before we got to the last page, which at the top had the list of different sounds and on the left column had the lists of words. Kubra had to put a check mark on the sound the word makes without looking at the first page. She was able to get some of the rights, but other ones she still confuses the sounds with. In the end, I gave her homework where she is to make up a story using the list of "augh" words I gave her to read to me for our next session.
