Today, July 1st, I met with my 21 yr old Korean student at the CIES building.
We began with conversation about her weekend. We reviewed using the future continuous verb tense. She told me what she would be doing on her upcoming trip to Atlanta. Next, we studied using in, or & at when describing places. This is something she requested because she wasn't sure of the usage. I brought in explanation and practice pages. By the end of the session she was able to properly identify and use the prepositions. They are still a bit confusing to her. I have learned from my student's desire to improve grammar that I need to plan ahead what we will study. We end our lessons by identifying what she wants to work on during the next session and this gives me plenty of time to research the rules and gather the necessary materials. She requested that we work on tag questions next session. I didn't realize how confusing these are until she brought it up.
